Privacy policy

Calculators run client-side in your browser. We never ask for or collect Social Security numbers, FSA IDs, loan account numbers or servicer logins. If you click “Save on this device”, your calculator inputs and results are stored in your browser’s localStorage under the key pslfcheck.plan.v1. That data stays on your device, is never sent to our servers, and you can delete it any time with the “Clear saved plan” button or by clearing site data in your browser. If you click “Copy share link”, a snapshot of your calculator inputs and results (no name, SSN, email or other identity data) is stored on our server under a random, unguessable link so others can view it. Shared plan pages are not indexed by search engines and are automatically deleted after 180 days. Your IP address is used only transiently to limit link creation to about 30 per hour and is not stored with the plan. If the share service is unavailable, the link instead encodes your inputs in the URL itself and nothing is sent to us.
